A Mini Lookbook: Weekend Getaway

Last weekend, my parents took me on a weekend getaway to Bandung as a way of helping me escape the hustle and bustle of Jakarta and the stress of IB exams (all of which are featured in my #IBDiaries series, if you're interested). To fully distract myself from all that pent up anxiety, my mom and I agreed to do a mini 'photoshoot' at the hotel. Upon this agreement, I brought two outfits for the two weekend days with me that were ultra comfy and made a mini photographic look book out of them.

This first look is inspired by the ever-trendy figure-hugging middi + sporty sneakers combo that's been seen on multiple models and fashion figures' Street Style outfits. To give it a loser look, I opted for a maxi dress. Plus, the sneakers gives what would otherwise be a sexy look a laid back vibe. The silver mini backpack and half up top-knot adds to the quirkiness while tying the black and contrasting light blue shoes together. Finally, the dark berry-toned glossy lips gives the otherwise cool-toned look a sharp warmth.
The loser fit of the maxi proved to be very useful as I easily climbed in and out of cars all day, the lip gloss on top of the matte lipstick kept my lips moisturised from 9 to 5, my hair was out of my face, and the backpack made fishing things in and out of my bag so much safer and easier, plus I had extra hands to use.

On the Sunday, it was rainy and I stayed at the hotel. To keep the coldness of rain and hotel rooms at bay, I chose a cozy ribbed sweater and jeans. The look was definitely inspired by 70's fashion as I chose a mustard colour for the sweater and bell-bottomed jeans. To keep the look authentic, I paired the outfit with my vintage Seiko Quartz watch and some matte lipstick. The combo kept me cozy and cute (not to toot my own horn or anything) the whole day.
